Cogent means a person having convincing abilities is a cogent person. Convincing abilities refers to satisfy the other person from you point of view about something. But a person can have the convincing only if he/she have a REASON. There must be a strong reason behind your point of view so that the other person don't have any second thought about your view point. A person with convincing skills can survive even more longer.
